What started out as a bit of entrepreneurial whimsy by millionaires looking to invest in ways to boost longevity has now gone mainstream.
One’s chronological, or calendar, age is immutable, but biological age—how old one’s body appears and its cellular health—can be improved with various medical and lifestyle interventions.
When it comes to aging, focus has shifted from lifespan to healthspan. Local experts say this is good news as more people are living longer. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of people 65 and older in this country is projected to surpass the number of the population 18 and under in the year 2034.
