Bryan Docobo – Patient Advocate, Attorney, and Founder of the Coats Plus Foundation & Gentlemen’s Tribe
Bryan Docobo brings an extraordinary perspective to the patient advocacy community in the Healthspan Action Coalition. As a parent navigating the challenges of a rare, life-altering genetic condition—Coats Plus Syndrome—he represents both the very human urgency of families and the innovative drive needed to unlock scientific solutions.
Having lost his younger son Ethan to Coats Plus Syndrome, Bryan now dedicates his daily efforts to advancing novel therapies for his oldest son, Liam, who faces the same diagnosis. His advocacy goes beyond awareness: he has successfully navigated regulatory frameworks to secure promising off-label drug therapies, facilitate cutting-edge stem cell treatment, and spearhead the creation of gene therapy—alongside multi-vector delivery technologies with potential impact across rare disease, aging and longevity research communities.
Bryan’s unique position at the crossroads of lived experience and scientific innovation aligns naturally with HSAC’s cross‑sector mission: accelerating access to regenerative therapies and promoting healthspan-enhancing policies grounded in advocacy, science, and equity.
Professionally, Bryan maintains a thriving law practice in South Florida, focusing on real estate, business, and safeguarding family futures. But his broader mission—through the Coats Plus Foundation and Gentlemen’s Tribe—is to build healing communities rooted in connection, vulnerability, and mutual empowerment.
As a member of the HSAC Patient Advocacy Group, Bryan brings:
-
Firsthand experience as a family leader in navigating rare disease care.
-
Strategic expertise in working with clinicians, regulators, biotech teams, and research institutions to advance therapeutic solutions.
-
Commitment to equity, advocating for accelerated access—from policy support to real-world delivery—to ensure every community benefits from medical advances .
Bryan’s work exemplifies the true essence of patient advocacy: representing the patient’s voice, interceding across medical and regulatory systems, and catalyzing collaboration toward transformative treatments.
He stands ready to contribute to HSAC’s mission—bringing both personal dedication and practical insight—to advocate effectively for accessible healthspan-enhancing innovations worldwide.
