About Us

Gayle Pergamit is an innovator and entrepreneur whose career focuses on identifying high-leverage innovations capable of delivering transformative benefits to human health, environmental sustainability, and societal resilience. She is co-founder of Covalent and Agua Via Ltd., and the inventor of the paradigm-shifting models that enable high-quality, low-cost, low-energy water separations—technologies designed to remove environmental contaminants that undermine healthspan and lifespan. She currently serves as Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Agua Via Ltd., guiding the deployment of these solutions to deliver clean water globally, and is a Managing Member in Covalent.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Pergamit co-founded American Rocket Company (ARC Technologies), later Starstruck, which pioneered commercial space launch in the United States with the successful sea launch of the Dolphin, and helped drive the Space Commerce Act, establishing the legal framework for private-sector activity in space. She then co-founded American Information Exchange (AMiX), which invented e-commerce, created the first e-commerce system and the foundational business and technical models that later enabled companies such as Amazon, Priceline, and eBay, revolutionizing global access to information and commerce.

Ms. Pergamit has also focused on education, communication, and public engagement. She taught communication skills at the Stanford University MBA program.

Among her publications, she created an award-winning educational series on water. With K. Eric Drexler, widely regarded as the father of nanotechnology, she co-authored Unbounding the Future, the first book to introduce atomically precise technology to an intelligent, non-technical audience, describing how such technologies can extend human healthspan and lifespan while benefiting people and the planet. Across her work, Ms. Pergamit is known for her ability to identify technical and conceptual leverage points that translate breakthrough ideas into solutions with lasting societal impact.
