Greg Fahy, PhD
Chief Scientific Officer of Intervene Immune, Inc.
Dr. Fahy, a California native, is the Chief Scientific Officer of Intervene Immune, Inc., and is the Executive Director of 21st Century Medicine, Inc., both based in Southern California, and is a world leader in cryogenic organ banking and in clinical aging intervention, or what he calls interventive gerontology. He published the first clinical trial of an aging intervention in healthy aging human subjects, focusing on thymus regeneration for the reversal of immunosenescence, in 2019. The trial, called the TRIIM trial, showed reversal of many age-related changes in the immune system but also showed the first documented reversals of aging indices as defined by a number of different aging clocks, averaging a 2.5-year reversal of epigenetic age compared to unopposed aging. Confirmatory trials, including the TRIIM-XA, -XB, -XD, and -XP trials, have replicated the basic results of the original trial and extended them to women and to individuals up to the age of 80. These trials, not yet published, have also documented reversals of additional unrelated age-related functional declines, demonstrating increased physical fitness and cardiovascular fitness as well as preliminary improvements in brain structure. Today, he and his team are working on next-generation thymus regeneration technologies, on new ways to harness the thymus for additional medical purposes, and on proving that thymic maintenance can radically extend mouse lifespan through the Immortal Thymus Project.
