About Us

Katie Seymour - My Care Friends, VP of Programming & Community -leads development of MCF programming and building the online community. To align herself with an organization where Patient First values are rooted, she joined MCF upon transitioning from the tech industry following the tragic loss of her sister. As a former caregiver/advocate, Katie now works to enable caregivers/advocates to connect meaningfully in MCF’s safe online community. Katie also helps deliver comprehensive MCF educational programs and resources, giving caregivers/advocates the knowledge, confidence, and tools they may need. Katie is passionate in raising awareness of the critical need for greater support for caregivers, addressing the increasing financial, emotional, and psychological challenges of caregiving professionals. This commitment is long-standing for her and while working on her Ph.D. from the University of Denver she conducted research focused on improving pain assessment and enhancing patient support for individuals with Alzheimer's disease.
